Facilicom courses are focused on three basic principles. First, people should acquire theoretical knowledge about the methods. Second, people should learn the skill to apply the methods. Third, participants should have examples and have the confidence and attitude to apply the methods.

Background of the methods Facilicom's training Facilicom's training courses are based on the core methods of the "Technology of Participation" (ToP) and the "Participatory Rural Appraisal" (PRA) techniques. The ToP methods have been developed by the Institute of Cultural Affairs. With these methods people can be consequently involved in decision making, planning and the implementation of activities. ToP is being used in countries around all continents and considers people's cultural dynamics as essential in building any sustainable pattern of change or development.
